Workforce Diversity

  • As of fiscal year 2020 percent Female is based on Gender Identity, which is a person’s innermost concept of self as male, female, a blend of both or neither (gender “X” or non-binary). How individuals perceive themselves and what they call themselves. A person’s gender identity can be the same or different from their sex assigned at birth. Female in prior fiscal years reflect the binary option previously labeled Gender.
  • Measures initiated in fiscal year 2020:
    • X/Non-Binary -  This measure is based on gender identity and provides the percent of the workforce that identifies as a gender that is not exclusively male or female.
    • LGBTQ+  -  This measure is the percent of the workforce that identifies as part of the LGBTQ+ community. LGBTQ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer/Questioning. The + allows space for other diverse sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression groups.
    • Military Spouse  -  This measure is the percent of the workforce that is a military spouse or registered domestic partner of a military service member during the service member’s time of active, reserve, or National Guard duty.
  • Measures initiated in fiscal year 2021:
    • New Hires and Turnover percentages by X/Non-Binary, LGBTQ+, and Military Spouse.
    • Female New Hire and Turnover percentages based on Gender Identity.
