MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR, BRIDGE
Definition
Typical Work
Inspects contract work such as bridge painting, repair or other services to ensure performance as set forth by State standards and specifications; recommends approval or disapproval of such work;
Supervises construction or repair of buildings and other structures;
Investigates complaints of local citizens and the traveling public; takes corrective action as appropriate;
Trains lower classified bridge maintenance personnel in assigned bridge maintenance work;
Performs all phases of bridge maintenance work;
Supervises and administers the schedules and activities of bridge tenders; daily logs and accident reports;
Coordinates support activities by Area road crews and other bridge crews; ensures that safety precautions and good public relation practices are adhered to by his assigned crews;
Prepares and maintains records and reports pertaining to assignments, crews, equipment, and expenditures as assigned;
Personally inspects and reviews the work of subordinates as crew assignments may dictate;
Perform other related work as required.
Legal Requirement(s)
Desirable Qualifications
A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with endorsement N and without air brakes restriction is required. Some positions may require the endorsement which must be attained within 60 days.
Equivalent education/experience.
Note: Must be capable of working at heights exceeding 100 feet and inside a confined space environment.
