Leads others in the operation of a stockroom or have complete responsibility for an offsite or mini stockroom operations, including ordering, receiving, and dispensing stockroom supplies and equipment using a manual or automated inventory system.

Regularly assigns, instructs and checks the work of others in the operation of a stockroom OR have complete responsibility for an offsite or mini stockroom operation. Under general supervision, receives, issues, stores, and inventories supplies in an organization stockroom in accordance with established policies and objectives. Plans and organizes work, determines the methods which will be used to complete work and assists in determining priorities and deadlines.

Leads staff issuing materials, supplies, and equipment;

Provides input to supervisor regarding subordinates’ performance for their evaluations;

Maintains manual or automated inventory control of supplies, materials, and equipment; insures proper tag inventory as outlined by state procedures; maintains records of equipment;

Monitors movement of stock and supplies; obtains estimates of future needs from users; prepares and submits purchase orders and requisitions;

Develops stocking plans and rearrange stock to accommodate inventory movement; uses appropriate materials handling equipment to move stock and equipment;

Instructs users and stockroom personnel on cleaning and minor repairs of used stock;

Prepares and prices inventory lists for stockroom; expedites special orders from central stores and outside vendors;

Maintains stockroom and perform custodial duties in assigned stockroom areas;

Cleans and makes repairs on equipment;

Performs the work of Stockroom Attendant 2;

Performs related duties as required.

Knowledge of: Stockroom operations, inventory, procurement, storage, issue and shipping procedures.

Ability to: manage storeroom facility with minimum direction; estimate stock needs, maintain stock levels and conduct receiving inspections and inventories; supervise clerical personnel; follow written and oral instructions; perform arithmetical computations.

High school graduation or equivalent AND one year of full-time experience in retail selling, shipping, and receiving or warehouse work or as a Stockroom Attendant 2

Equivalent education/experience.
