HEALTH ED RESOURCES SUPERVISOR
Definition
Supervise and coordinate learning resource activities between faculty, staff and students in the health sciences areas and external health education professional in the areas of:
- Curriculum planning,
- Development and implementation of evaluation techniques, and
- Instructional materials delivery.
Distinguishing Characteristics
Positions at this level work independently on projects and programs as outlined in terms of the overall goals. Incumbents plan, assign and supervise the activities of professional personnel in such projects and programs related to curriculum planning, evaluation technology and instructional materials delivery.
Typical Work
Act as consultant to faculty in curriculum planning relating to the delivery, utilization and evaluation of instructional materials;
Supervise the development of programs relating to instructional materials such as: identification, search and retrieval systems; development of information centers; and institutional loan systems; development of programs relating to evaluation activities;
Provide administrative and managerial support to affiliated self-learning instructional materials laboratories offering assistance as needed in all activities, including the responsibility for establishing new self-learning centers;
Participate with administrative heads in the planning and implementation of departmental policies and procedures;
Responsible for coordination of total packages: selection, utilization, and evaluation of instructional materials as outlined in specific programs;
Organize, conduct and participate in conferences, workshops, demonstrations and classes on the application and utilization of instructional materials;
Develop budget recommendations; review and approve operating expenditures;
Interview, select and evaluate the performance of support staff;
May represent the administrative heads of a center in situations requiring athorough knowledge of departmental policies and procedures;
Perform related duties as required.

There may be instances where individual positions must have additional licenses or certification. It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure the appropriate licenses/certifications are obtained for each position.
Desirable Qualifications
Master's Degree in education, health education, or health science discipline;
AND
Two years of experience as a Health Education Resource Coordinator II, Scientific Instructional Designer II, or equivalent.
Equivalent level experience may be substituted for the educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Examination Requirements:
A job element examination (including written, E & T and oral components) scored on the basis of job related experience, training, skill, ability and other elements which are established through job analysis.
