LIQUOR CONTROL SECURITY OFFICER 1
Definition
Assists in internal liquor store operational investigations by examining and comparing store records and documents to determine compliance with operational procedures and/or trains, directs and coordinates the activities of Liquor Investigators engaged in store shopping tests.
Typical Work
Schedules store shopping tests and reviews and analyzes shoppers' reports;
Assists with the installation of surveillance cameras in liquor stores;
Audits accounting records, cash register tapes, work schedules, bank deposits, etc., and prepares reports of discrepancies;
Reviews photos from surveillance cameras and reports irregularities;
Presents testimony at hearings and in court;
Performs other work as required.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of: basic investigation techniques; laws of arrest, search and seizure; basic bookkeeping.
Ability to: learn complex operating procedures; interview, interrogate people; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; analyze business records; schedule and coordinate the work of others; deal effectively and tactfully with others.

Desirable Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in police science, business administration or public administration or closely allied field and one year of experience in law enforcement, security investigation or auditing.
Additional experience may be substituted, year for year, for the required education.
