Perform custodial duties and routine maintenance work on buildings, facilities and equipment.
Distinguishing Characteristics
Perform custodial duties and, under general supervision, a variety of routine maintenance work in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical or related work.
Typical Work
Maintain and repair a variety of heavy duty floor machines such as washers, vacuums and buffers; replace drive wheels, shafts, gears, valves and electrical switches; oil motors and clean terminals;
Maintain parts and equipment supplies, parts catalogs and equipment maintenance records;
Perform minor repairs on electrical circuits, steam or waterlines, plumbing fixtures, lights and partitions; clean clogged drains and sewer lines; replace broken windows;
May instruct other personnel in routine maintenance or custodial techniques;
Perform related duties as required.

Persons legally authorized to work in the U.S. under federal law, including Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals recipients, are eligible for employment unless prohibited by other state or federal law.
Desirable Qualifications
Physical ability to do required work; AND one year of experience as a Maintenance Custodian, or equivalent.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
