Definition
Distinguishing Characteristics
Typical Work
Regularly assigns, instructs, and checks the work of lower level Examiner Support Specialists (ESS’s);
Monitors lower level ESS's work performance for quality, quantity, and timeliness; Identifies training needs of staff and provides/schedules appropriate training;
Operates as a liaison between regions, state, and federal partners;
Acts as point of contact and resource for Adjudicative and Management staff; Monitors, prepares, and presents reports to management;
Assists lower level specialists and agency contacts with solving complex issues or problems;
Prepares, reconciles, and transfers fiscal documents for multi-system payment processing; based on circumstances and judgment may make corrections or exceptions to policy;
Performs work of lower level ESS classes;
Performs other duties as required.

There may be instances where individual positions must have additional licenses or certification. It is the employer's responsibility to ensure the appropriate licenses/certifications are obtained for each position.
Persons legally authorized to work in the U.S. under federal law, including Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals recipients, are eligible for employment unless prohibited by other state or federal law.
Desirable Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and at least two years of professional experience as an Examiner Support Specialist
OR
Additional years of qualifying experience will substitute year for year for education.
