Definition

In a training capacity and under close supervision, planning technicians at this level perform planning duties involving collection, classification and summarization of data for various transportation studies;

OR

In a training capacity under close supervision, in Motor Carrier Services (MCS) learns the processes and conditions for superload permits, obtaining limited approval authority, and the collection, validation and summarization of road usage data.

Typical Work

Majority of assigned duties include collection and/or summarizing of data relating to the physical inventory of transportation facilities, the travel and operating characteristics of transportation systems, and/or social, economic, safety and environmental factors;

Performs other work as required.

Desirable Qualifications

Graduation from high school or satisfactory completion of GED.

Equivalent education/experience.

NOTE: A valid driver's license may be required.
