COLLEGE CAREER GRADUATE - ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY
Definition
As a college or university graduate of an accredited four-year institution, trains for and performs first-year professional engineering, architecture, or allied assignments.
Distinguishing Characteristics
Incumbents in this class carry a Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, urban planning, or related discipline.
Incumbents normally advance to the next higher level class in their technological field following completion of an approved in-training plan of 6-24 months in duration.

There may be instances where individual positions must have additional licenses or certification. It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure the appropriate licenses/certifications are obtained for each position.
Persons legally authorized to work in the U.S. under federal law, including Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals recipients, are eligible for employment unless prohibited by other state or federal law.
Desirable Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree involving major study in mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil, environmental engineering, architecture, urban planning, or a related field.
College or university students, including state employees, who are enrolled and scheduled to complete their degree requirements within 9 months may apply. The degree must be achieved, however, prior to appointment.
Note: Selective certification may be requested and applied to designated disciplines and/or internship/fellowship/work-study programs.
