COLLEGE CAREER MS GRADUATE - BUSINESS, FINANCE & PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION
Definition
As a college or university Master's graduate of an accredited institution, trains for and performs professional business, finance, or allied assignments.
Distinguishing Characteristics
Incumbents in this class carry a Master's degree in business or public administration, human resources, accounting, finance, economic, or statistics, or allied field.
Incumbents normally advance to the next higher level class in their business field following completion of an approved in-training plan of 6-24 months in duration.

There may be instances where individual positions must have additional licenses or certification. It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure the appropriate licenses/certifications are obtained for each position.
Persons legally authorized to work in the U.S. under federal law, including Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals recipients, are eligible for employment unless prohibited by other state or federal law.
Desirable Qualifications
A Master's degree involving major study in business or public administration or allied field such as: accounting, marketing, commerce, finance, business administration, statistics, economics, etc.
College or university students, including state employees, who are enrolled and scheduled to complete their Master's degree requirements within 9 months may apply. The degree must be achieved, however, prior to appointment.
Note: Selective certification may be requested and applied to designated disciplines and/or internship/fellowship/work-study programs.
