INDUSTRIAL INSURANCE PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Definition
Plans, administers, supervises, directs and advises on all objectives and activities within assigned program. Acts as an assistant to the Chief Industrial Appeals Judge in the operations and administration of the assigned program, including formulation of strategic, long-range objectives and plans, responsibility for program results and the effective utilization of resources. Administers programs to provide all the support necessary for processing appeals. Makes decisions and acts for Manager in administrative matters regarding support issues within assigned program. Supervises staff who provide administrative/legal support to Industrial Appeals Judges located throughout the state.
Typical Work
Performs strategic planning for the program, division and agency-wide projects and initiatives;
Creates performance targets for the program and ensures those targets are met; allocates resources to their highest priority;
Identifies, establishes, implements, and monitors effective office procedures to conform with agency operating standards and statutory requirements;
Assigns, plans and coordinates activities within unit to meet agency guidelines and to ensure efficient processing of appeals;
Supervises staff, interviews and recommends selection of applicants, conducts and recommends training, assigns and schedules work, acts on leave requests, conducts annual performance evaluations and recommends corrective and/or disciplinary actions;
Prepares and reviews correspondence and statistical reports for accuracy and quality;
Participates and represents the program at bi-annual agency-wide management conferences, quarterly GMAP meetings, bi-monthly division meetings, and bi-monthly agency-wide supervisor/manager meetings; ensures that program needs are addressed and adequate changes are implemented;
Primarily responsible for preparation, maintenance, review, research and analysis of statistical reports for the program;
May serve on other committees, task forces or project groups;
Manages and assigns cases to Judges and/or support staff to ensure consistent and equal workload assignments;
May maintain and supervise the legal research libraries including ordering, cataloging and physical maintenance;
Performs other duties as required.

Desirable Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
AND
Two to three years of experience in industrial insurance claims management, legal support, program management, supervision, administrative assistance, or comparable combination of graduate education and experience.
