Definition
This is the journey, occupational or working level of the series. Positions work independently under general supervision within their area of responsibility. Positions can perform general or specialized fiscal duties in a wide variety of financial areas including accounting, contracts, grants, or other financial review work for a state agency. Positions may also assist with the implementation and operation of cash flow, cash management or investment programs.
Typical Work
Performs fiscal duties such as financial report analysis; accounts payable-receivable discrepancy resolution etc;
Reviews and approves payroll documents and deduction forms. Consults on payroll problems, federal taxes, electronic fund transfers, insurance and other miscellaneous deductions;Reconciles reserves to agency subsidiary accounting records;
Prepares Fiscal Year end closing adjustment and accrual journal vouchers for revenues, receivables, payables and supplemental unfunded liability amortization;Reviews, analyzes and audits bank confirmations, receipts and disbursement, of revenues received;
Projects incoming and outgoing cash requirements to determine effects on investments;Positions may lead or supervise clerical, fiscal, budget or other support staff involved in a variety of manual or automated fiscal recording keeping tasks.

There may be instances where individual positions must have additional licenses or certification. It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure the appropriate licenses/certifications are obtained for each position.
