HEALTH EDUCATION RESOURCES COOR 1
Definition
Assist in the coordination of learning resource activities between faculty, staff and students in the health sciences area and external health education professionals in the areas of:
- Curriculum planning,
- Development and implementation of evaluation techniques; and
- Instructional media delivery.
Distinguishing Characteristics
Positions at this level perform a variety of learning resource activities relating to faculty, staff and students in the health sciences areas and with external health education agencies. Positions assist in projects and programs in which authority, responsibility and independence in performance of job duties is limited, work is subjected to regular review and given direction by higher level personnel.
Typical Work
Assist in curriculum planning by such activities as conducting research in the planning and development of new teaching materials and techniques;
Assist with logistical endeavors in curriculum planning such as arranging for rooms, media equipment, recordings, etc., based on an understanding of basic technical uses and scientific content of instructional materials;
Coordinate the appropriate use of teaching hospital resources - specifically clinical tutors, patient and teaching space;
Assist in national and regional searches in specific areas of material identification and/or cataloging purposes;
Assist in the maintenance and coordination of self-learning instructional laboratories serving as a liaison between faculty, staff and students at these learning centers in their use of instructional materials to meet stated educational objectives;
May develop and supervise patient recruitment systems within the teaching hospitals;
May assist in evaluation activities such as surveys of identification of needs for further educational programs, course objectives, etc.;
May assist in conducting workshops and conferences on the application and utilization of instructional materials as they pertain to teaching and course objectives;
Perform related duties as required.

Desirable Qualifications
A Master's Degree in education, health education or health sciences discipline. Equivalent level experience may be substituted for the educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Examination Requirements:
A job element examination (including written, E & T and oral components) scored on the basis of job related experience, training, skill, ability and other elements which are established through job analysis.
