COOR, TEACHER PREPARATION PROGRAM
Definition
Coordinate and assist in the assessment of students in a Teacher Preparation Program and maintain the Teacher Preparation Laboratory.
Typical Work
Advise students regarding the curriculum of a Teacher Preparation Program, such as Biology, etc.;
Assist in the selection procedure for the program including assembling records and recommendations and interviewing students;
Develop and maintain written and audio-visual materials utilized in the program;
Maintain the Teacher Preparation Laboratory including ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment, maintaining laboratory samples and instructing students;
Prepare memorandum, minutes, and the like;
Maintain student records;
Provide information regarding the program, subject specialty and teaching topics;
Perform related duties as required.

There may be instances where individual positions must have additional licenses or certification. It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure the appropriate licenses/certifications are obtained for each position.
Desirable Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired;
AND
Two years of experience including one year of teaching or student advising and one year of laboratory experience including knowledge of program specialty.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Examination Requirements:
- A job element examination (including written, E & T and oral components) scored on the basis of job related experience, training, skill, ability, and other elements which are established through job analysis.
