Definition
Assemble and analyze planning data, prepare reports, and assist with preparation of facility master plans.
Distinguishing Characteristics
Under general supervision, independently conduct complete planning studies for projects of limited scope and complexity (i.e., projects characterized by having a restricted number of environmental and/or siting variables which must be considered and for which environmental analysis is typically accommodated by environmental check lists rather than full-scale environmental impact statements), and/or perform planning analysis for portions of larger scale projects with more complex planning or regulatory requirements under the direction of higher level staff.
Typical Work
Gathers and evaluates environmental, population, facility use, traffic and other data and prepares reports;
Reviews development/construction proposals for compliance with the institution's general development plan;
Maintains compliance with regulatory requirements affecting campus development and construction;
Participates in development of facility and site design criteria; develops siting alternatives for proposed construction;
Assists with preparation of facility master plans;
Performs related duties as required.

Desirable Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in planning, architecture, or related field and two years of professional planning experience, or a Master's Degree in one of the above fields and one year of professional planning experience, or equivalent.
