Life Sciences Discovery Fund Auth - Current Law

The Life Sciences Discovery Fund Authority (LSDF) fosters growth of Washington’s life sciences sector, resulting in improved health and economic wellbeing for its residents. LSDF invests monies from the Master Tobacco Settlement Agreement in research and development across Washington that demonstrates the greatest potential for delivering health and economic returns to the state and strengthening the life science ecosystem. Grants are awarded through a competitive external review process to universities, research institutions, and startup life science companies. Grants require payback when the supported program or technology is successful.

Agency Mission

The Life Sciences Discovery Fund Authority makes grants for innovative life sciences research to improve health care, stimulate economic activity, and promote life sciences competitiveness in Washington state.
