Nisqually New Full Service Park

Funding was provided in the 2019-21 biennium to design and permit the first phase construction of campground, infrastructure and support facilities at the new Nisqually State Park and to construct and expand the park trail system. Additional funding is provided to construct a maintenance and park operations building. Nisqually State Park lacks necessary facilities to support staff in operating and maintaining the park. This building is needed so that new capital improvements and existing facilities can be efficiently maintained to provide a desirable recreation experience for park visitors.

Palouse to Cascades Trail: Crab Creek Trestle Replacement

The Crab Creek trestle provides a key stream crossing along the cross-state Palouse to Cascades Trail. A spring 2019 brush fire destroyed the trestle, creating a gap in the trail and forcing trail users to detour onto local roads. This project will design a replacement trestle that will provide safe and continuous access across Crab Creek for trail users.
